SUBJECT: "eth0: Link Not Valid" Hardware Problem

Hey Guys,

Your Network Adapter Could Be Your Problem (SCPH-10281)!

I've been fighting with my PS2Linux kit for a while now; trying to get it on my network. I kept getting the same dreaded message, "eth0: Link not valid." I was using the network adapter that came with my newer PS2. The one that has both the LAN and LINE jacks in it (SCPH-10281). I read the thread titled the same as the error and figured I would try the still sealed network adapter that came with the kit. No surprise, it worked! Except for the smap.o bug which I've patched.

So I'm making the formal annoucement that the (SCPH-10281) Network Adapter does not work with the standard PS2Linux kit.

If anyone finds a way to make it work (drivers, etc) let me know, because I would like to use it on a second PS2Linux system.

Thanks for all your help!
