Summary:Closing down playstation2-linux.com

After 7 years of service, the time has come when we must plan for closing down this site. We appreciate there are some valuable downloads and postings here, and we're looking at continuing to provide an archive of those for you once the site is gone - please let us know what you'd vote for putting in there.

SPS2? VCL? Let us know! We have a few months left to go, but by the end of October 2009 we will be looking at closing down the site as it stands now.

Thanks to all the enthusiastic members of the PS2Linux community!

Sarah.

SUBJECT: Say it ain't so!

When the price of a PS/2 recently went down to $100, I bought one just so I could dedicate my old PS/2 to all Linux, all the time.

I successfully compiled git 1.6.2.5 for it, and it works, sans tcl/tkl gui. I also built Python 2.6.2 for it. Compared to other distros where all you need to do is apt-get, I learned a great deal by compiling and installing.

I never really got into programming for Sony's gpu though. Still, I had hoped this site would stick around forever.
