Summary:VU Coding Contest: Results!

The PS2Linux 2003 VU coding contest results have been announced!

3rd Place: "Bubble" by Fabian Roth (fin)
2nd Place: "Plasmaroids 2" by Ben Tayler (bjt)
1st Place: "VU Nightmare!" by Jonathan Hobson (kazan)

Commendation also goes to the intro of "The Winds", the beginning of "Lit Spinner", and "Maxdemon".

Well done to everyone who took part,

SUBJECT: A new way to look at the demos

I've uploaded a modified harness to my VU tutorial page. It builds on Sauce's improvements, then adds a performance bar which show you very visually how much work the VU is doing per frame - quite useful really!

It shows some really interesting facts - like just how much work it takes to rotate those 100 cubes, and how much of a difference it makes when text is also displayed on the screen...
