Project Description: The ps2 represents a very cheap processing solution for render farms, signal processing, web servers and other intensive computer applications. The project is for purely educational purposes, for I have no funding! It will involve socket programming, use of MPI software, fast math’s functions and eventually assembly code for the ps2's specific hardware. This project is basically a test of the ps2's realistic hardware performance in cluster computing. The 10/100 lan interface will be used as the interconnecting medium. The project will also envolove displaying processed data using the ps2's powerful graphics processor. I will begin with only one ps2 and a desktop P.c. additional funding will be required to test the software on a cluster of ps2's.
