SUBJECT: RE: 2.4/2.5 kernel?

There isn't much progress towards a 2.4 kernel, mainly because the 2.2.21 kernel is so stable and fits the needs of 95% of the developer community. That is not to say that we shouldn't upgrade to the 2.4 kernel, but people aren't as driven to do that.

By chance, has the xRhino team looked at the available 2.4 kernel code found on ps2hacking.sourceforge.net (Mainly on their CVS Repository)?

This group, whomever it is, seems to have gotten a 2.4.8 kernel that looks like it has PS2 support ready for it. It's not a complete kernel tree, they pretty much axed the other architectures. It doesn't look like anything has been contributed lately, but if xRhino is looking at some starting point for a 2.4.x based kernel (if they haven't realdy started), this looks like a really good starting point.
