This release of APT is built for PS2 Linux, and requires the use of at least RPM v4.0.2, which is also available in this project. For instructions on upgrading RPM on PS2 Linux please see the documentation section of this project.
This software comes pre-configured to connect to the PS2 Linux repository. Software upgrade and installing is very simple and can usually be accomplished with a few commands.
For example, the following commands will check the repository for updates to your installed software.
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
These commands will install/upgrade an individual package (in this case zlib).
apt-get install zlib
Note that APT will always check your dependencies before installing any new software. It may warn you of any dependency problems it finds in your RPM database, and refuse to install anything, before it is resolved.
